Ideas and Images Present Artist Liz Rodda – The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College will host works of multi-media artist Liz Rodda, who uses sculpture and video as a means to investigate our notions of fate, personal control and the future. Sea Your History Weekend: Tap Into Your Past – Friday from 3-6 p.m., St. Augustine Lighthouse archaeologists unlock the secrets of long-lost shipwrecks and take visitors behind the scenes on the Lost Ships Tour. Beginning Saturday at 9 a.m., work with traditional wooden boatbuilders to build a boat from centuries gone by. From 2- 4 p.m., there’s a book signing with Dr. Patrick McGovern from the University of Pennsylvania. Then beginning at 5, Dr. McGovern will present his story “Uncorking the Past.” He will explain how he used molecular biology to re-construct King Midas’ funerary feast. Tickets to Dr. McGovern’s presentation at the 5 p.m. reception and ancient beer samples are $14.75. A ticket to Friday’s Lost Ship Tour, which includes admission to the Lighthouse, is $24. Guided Beach Exploration Guana South Beach – Join GTM Research Reserve volunteers from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. for a beach walk at the Guana South beach location on A1A, 1768 Ponte Vedra Blvd., South Ponte Vedra Beach.
