LIVING HISTORY DAYS AT FORT MOSE * Saturday, Jan 29

See what it was like to be a Spanish citizen of St. Augustine. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,members of the Los Presidiales de San Agustín willpresent 18th-century historical interpretation programs at Fort Mose. Established in 1738, Fort Mose is the site of the first, legally- sanctioned free black settlement in the continental U.S. Fort Mose State Park is located at 15 Fort Mose Trail in St. Augustine. SCHOOL OF THE 16TH CENTURY * Saturday, Jan 29

Come learn authentic 16th century living skills at this gathering and workshop organized by Historic Florida Militia. This educational event provides the opportunity for re-enactors (pros or novice), or anyone interested in the early settlers of St. Augustine, to exchange ideas and information about 16th century military and society. Topics covered will include assemblies and drills, cooking demonstrations, clothing and fun. All classes will provide hands on experiences. It all takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park, located at 11 Magnolia Street in St. Augustine. Admission is $10 for adults; $9 seniors; and $6 children. From 5 to 9 p.m., experience live music, refreshments, new exhibits, book signings and much more at the galleries, antique stores and unique shops on St. Augustine’s San Marco Avenue between Ripley’s Museum and the Mission Nombre de Dios.
