We admit it…we have Mumford and Sons Fever. It’s been building since last spring when this internationally-acclaimed band (unknown band some of us oldies!) picked St. Augustine for one of its stopovers. Since then we’ve been listening to their music, have seen them on the Grammy Awards, been interviewed on local TV news, and waited.
This week the fever officially hit our fair city. Displays like the mustaches on the St. Augustine Lighthouse

remind us daily that MUMFORD AND SONS will be here this weekend! Hundreds of portable bathrooms have been delivered to St. Francis field and more are set up near the plaza downtown. Restaurants are preparing special – quick – menus for the thousands of fans who will be hungry. Shops are setting up for increased crowds. Shuttles are ready to get fans to the event field and back. (Those fans lucky enough to stay with us and other accommodations in the historic district will be able to walk back and forth.)
We didn’t know how crazy things could get until this:
