Civil Rights & Black Heritage Tour – St. Augustine Black Heritage Tours will offer a FREE historic walking tour at 5 p.m. Learn about St. Augustine’s historic role in Black History and events leading up to the Civil Rights act of 1964. Tours depart from the Tour Saint Augustine office, 4 Granada Street and encompass several blocks over the course of an hour. Living History Day at Fort Matanzas National Monument – From 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., authentically clad reenactors demonstrate Spanish cannons at this fortress that guarded the southern approach to St. Augustine. Admission is free including the ferry ride to and from Rattlesnake Island. Guided Cultural Hike at GTM Reserve – From 8:30 – 10:30 a.m., learn about the cultural history of the Guana Peninsula during a guided cultural hike. Find out about the peninsula’s 5,000 years of human history, including how native peoples used estuarine resources, what European plantation life was like and current efforts to learn about and save these resources. The guided tour meets at the GTM Research Reserve’s Trailhead Pavilion located west of the Guana Dam, 505 Guana River Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach. Wear comfortable closed toe shoes. Murder in The Old City – A murder mystery in the nation’s oldest city, combined with great dining, creates a memorable and enjoyable evening of entertainment.
