Jerusalem at the IMAX Theater – The documentary film “Jerusalem” plays each day through  March 20 at The IMAX Theater at World Golf Hall of Fame. This film explores how this small city became such a pivotal part of human history.  Jerusalem is home to some of the most sacred sites in the world for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Journey: 450 Years of the African-American Experience – Journey: 450 Years of the African American Experience covers the long and storied history of African-Americans in St. Augustine. The story of African-Americans begins in St. Augustine with the first Africans both free and slave among founding colonists in 1565. The exhibition is designed for cultural and heritage visitors interested in the full history of America and its beginnings and comprises four themes: Genesis of the African-American Experience; Fortress of Freedom; Breaking the Chains; and Crossroads of Change.  Tickets are $5 for adults; $4 for seniors; $3 for youth 7-12; under 7 free. El Galeón Tour – Tour a full-sized replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon. Docked at the St. Augustine City Marina, El Galeón Andalucia is an exact replica of the famous galleons that played an important role in the creation and maintenance of the Spanish Empire.  Built in Spain, it is similar to the galleon that brought Pedro Menendez to Florida where he founded St. Augustine in 1565.  The ship is available for tours beginning at 10 a.m. daily. Prisms Exhibit – Lost Art Gallery features the work of Argentinian artist Raul Torres-Rojas.  Unmistakable in style, Rojas sees the world as if through a “prism” in his paintings of figures, birds, flowers and boating scenes.  210 St. George Street, St. Augustine, 904-827-9800 www.lostartgallery.com 
 
Society of Mixed Media Exhibition – A juried exhibition of the Society Of Mixed Media Artists. Chosen artists will exhibit their latest works of art. Juried by Gene Roberds the exhibit features collage, assemblage, sculpture and other experimental works introducing mixed media as an important contribution to the fine arts community. Discover First America Program: In White America Preview – This is a special preview performance of Flagler College’s full play titled In White America. The absorbing African-American story is brought to life on stage. From a letter revealing the heart and soul of a runaway slave to a moving speech by a southern senator in justification of lynching to portraits of Booker T. Washington, each scene has an emotional story. This program is sponsored by Flagler College.  Held in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, admission is free. A Coquina Rock Beach Walk – From 1 – 2:30 p.m., explore the second largest outcropping of coquina rock on the Atlantic Coast with a park volunteer at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.  Learn about coquina and discover the inhabitants of the rock, its geological makeup and gain a better understanding of the beach ecosystem.  Regular park entrance fee of $5 per vehicle, up to eight people; $4 per vehicle for single occupancy or $2 per person on bicycle applies.   6400 North Oceanshore Blvd., Palm Coast.  386-446-6780 www.floridastateparks.org/washingtonoaks

In White America – Flagler College Theatre Arts presents this absorbing and award-winning story of African-Americans.  From a letter revealing the heart and soul of a runaway slave to a moving speech by a southern senator in justification of lynching to portraits of Booker T. Washington, each scene has an emotional story. First produced in 1963, the play sets the stage for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.   Performances take place at the Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College.  Tickets for general admission are $10.  Show times are 7:30 p.m. on March 13, 14 & 15  and 2 p.m. March 16.  14 Granada St., St. Augustine. 904-826-8600
Limelight Theatre Presents “The Miss Firecracker Contest” – Delightful twists and turns create a hilarious story of one girl’s ambitious attempt to win the Miss Firecracker Contest and leave her small southern town in a blaze of glory.   Performance times are 7:30

I’ll Give You A Day – Derek Coghlan presents “I’ll Give You a Day” – The Pioneer Barn at the Old Florida Museum hosts a one-man show written and performed by Derek Coghlan.  The play, “I’ll Give You a Day”, focuses on emigration, culture shock, small southern towns, guilt, unemployment, lunacy, and the fabulous assortment of wonderfully odd people he met along the way from Ireland to America.  Friday’s performance is 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s starts at 2:30 p.m.  Admission is $20 and $15 for students.  259 San Marco Ave. St. Augustine.  904-824-8874 www.fortmenendez.com

God’s Trombones presented by the St. Augustine Community Chorus – Directed by Ms. Kathleen Vande Berg, the St. Augustine Community Chorus presents “God’s Trombones,” a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 at St. Augustine High School Auditorium.  The Saturday concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday concert starts at 3 p.m.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door for adults, students and children are $5.  3205 Varella Ave., St. Augustine. www.staugustinecommunitychorus.org

Photography Challenge Event – Photographers, from beginners to professionals, compete to take the best photo at three designated locations within Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.  Maps to the featured locations can be obtained from the Ranger Station or from volunteers in the main parking lot.  “Artisans Through The Ages” Exhibit – The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum hosts its annual “Artisans Through The Ages” exhibit. The event honors the 19th century history of the house with arts and crafts produced by members of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in The State of Florida (NSCDA-FL) and local artists and reenactors. Also, admission is free to everyone at the Fort Matanzas National Monument, St. Photios Chapel, the Pena-Peck House, the Father Miguel O’Reilly Museum and the Mission Nombre de Dios Museum (donations are welcomed). Many other local attractions offer discounted admissions to St. Johns County residents with valid ID.
