Put your fishing skills to the test in the premiere Southern Kingfish competition of the year – with over $175,000 in cash and prizes! The tournament starts from St. Augustine Municipal Marina, located at Avenida Menendez and the Bridge of Lions. The King Buster 400 is limited to 400 boats. Fishing days are Friday and Saturday. There will be a party with live music Friday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and prizes will be awarded at Sunday’s Festivites from noon to 6 p.m.. Tournament entry fees are $449.50. Head over to the St. Johns County Fairgrounds for a night at the rodeo. There will be fun for the whole family including Barrel racing, team roping, kids calf scramble (for those 10 and under and free), tiedown roping, bull riding, chute dogging and more. The show begins at 8 p.m. both evenings. Admission is $12 for adults and $7 for children. The Fairgrounds are located on S.R. 207 (7 miles west of I-95 exit 311) in Elkton. Don’t miss the dedication ceremony for the new Andrew Young Crossing monument in St. Augustine’s Plaza de la Constitucion. The monument commemorates Ambassador Young’s experience in St. Augustine during the push for the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964. Ambassador Young will be in attendance.
