We were blessed this weekend to have both The Queen of Crime and the Sultry Sister of Soul staying at the Inn.
Edna Buchanan, The Queen of Crime, received the 2012 Literary Legend Award Friday night at the Florida Heritage Book Festival & Writers Conference at the St. Johns County Convention Center at Renaissance World Golf Village Resort. The award saluted a 40-plus-year career, including a Pulitzer Prize for cop beat reporting while at The Miami Herald, two nonfiction books on those days and 16 novels featuring crime. Our own Max, Office Manager at the Inn, was lucky enough to attend the banquet.
Ms. Buchanan checked into the St. Francis Inn Friday afternoon and stayed through Sunday morning. She enjoyed our Sunday Brunch and mentioned it had been a long time since she had had such a delicious breakfast. She also enjoyed our extensive selection of teas.

Sarah Sanders, the Sultry Sister of Soul, stayed with us Sunday night. She delighted the congregation at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church singing Jazz Vespers and rocking the rafters with her strong and soulful voice.
