The St. Augustine Amphitheatre will be hosting a premiere for Kai Neville’s new surf film entitled Lost Atlas. A location-based film shot in under 12 months, Lost Atlas takes the viewer on a candid jaunt into surfing today through the eyes of the most progressive, young surfers in the world. Premier events include performances by Le Blorr, Sunbears!, and Darkhorse Saloon, a taco cook-off and a surf merchandise sale. This premier movie event takes place from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, located at 1340 A1A in St. Augustine. Admission is free. Come meet the “Master of Modern Still Life” when artist Thomas Arvid visits Galeria del Mar in St. Augustine. The gallery will unveil Arvid’s newest major original oil painting, “Golden Opportunity” – a 30″x48″ canvas depicting six bottles of Far Niente. LOW TIDE BIKE RIDE AT ANASTASIA STATE PARK * Saturday * Aug 27
Get a great cardio workout on one of the most awesome beaches in Florida. The 9 a.m. ride is a 3 ½ mile loop and includes an ecology talk at the point of Conch Island. Bring at least one pint of water, bicycle, snack, binoculars, and sunscreen. Bike rentals will be available. Admission to the park is $8 per vehicle, up to 8 people, $4 for single occupant admission, and $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists.
