This Saturday (3/6/10) pirates will run amok in the city streets of St. Augustine. Don’t worry, though, unlike in 1668 when Captain Robert Searle and his buccaneers looted and terrorized the citizens of St. Augustine, this re-enactment is all in fun. The pirates will set up camp at the Fountain of Youth where visitors can experience authentic 17th century arms, equipment and food. Then, at 5:00pm on Saturday, the pirates will attack the soldiers and townspeople in the Plaza de la Constitucion. The soldiers and townspeople (all re-enactors) will flee up St. George Street to the Redoubt at Orange and Cordova Streets in the Historic District.
