Ambrose's Retreat encompasses the second floor of our 1894 House, one of just two accommodations in this comfortable private dwelling. This large apartment-style suite of rooms includes two bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen and a living room. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has a king which can be converted into two twins. There is color cable tv in the living room and in each of the bedrooms, plus central heat and air-conditioning. One bathroom has a walk-in shower and the other has a tub/shower combination. There are two private balconies (one at each end of the building), a washer and dryer. Daily housekeeping is provided.
Two of St. Francis Inn's largest accommodations are in the 1894 House, a two-story Victorian-style home in an Old City neighborhood. This was a private residence until totally renovated by the Finnegan Family as part of its St. Francis Inn accommodations. This "gingerbread" house is located at 30 Marine Street, a few blocks from the Main Inn, and just one block away from the Bayfront. It is in walking distance to just about everything in the historic old city downtown district. There is onsite parking for one vehicle for each 1894 House accommodation, with additional parking at St. Francis Inn.
All guests staying in the 1894 House enjoy all the same free guest amenities and use of all the common areas as do all guests of St. Francis Inn. The Main Inn building is the center of activity, where our buffet breakfast is served, the evening socials occur, the coffee bar and evening desserts are served, and the gift center is located; easily accessed by those staying in the 1894 House. Guests may use the swimming pool and complimentary bicycles at the St Francis Inn also.
