That’s why we think that as soon as it’s safe to do so, planning a getaway to the beautiful St. Augustine Beach is exactly what you need.  Book a room at our historic boutique hotel in heart of historic St. Augustine today!

The Perfect Day on the St. Augustine Beach

The St. Augustine Beach is actually one of many beaches in the St. Augustine area. The St. Augustine Beaches stretch from Vilano Beach in the north to Crescent Beach in the south. Each of the St. Augustine beaches has a different personality, offering a variety of experiences. From idyllic State Parks to public beaches only a block or two from restaurants, we’re confident you’ll find exactly the experience you’ve been craving.

The St. Augustine Beach, located on Anastasia Island, is where we send guests staying at the St. Francis Inn or one of our sister properties.  St. Augustine Beach is just 6 miles from our Inn. Free access to this amazing beach is just one of the many great amenities included in your stay with us. Access to the beach is via our a separate dedicated space at our beach cottage.  Once there, we provide you with towels, beach chairs, cold water, a refrigerator, an outdoor shower, and everything you’ll need for your perfect beach day.

Once on the St. Augustine Beach, you’ll discover why it’s considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The St. Augustine Beach includes 14 miles of warm, sandy bliss. Once you’ve crossed the dunes, it’s up to you how to enjoy the day. Curl up with a good book, enjoy boats passing by on the horizon, try boogie-boarding or surf fishing, and maybe even watch dolphins playing in the surf just beyond the shores.

The St. Augustine Beach offers more than just access to the beach, though. The area is also packed with interesting shops, restaurants, boutiques, surf shops, moped and kayak rentals, and so much more. There are also public fishing piers, volleyball courts, and a weekly farmers market in the area. Nearby attractions include Fiesta Falls miniature golf, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, and the 165 foot tall candy-striped St. Augustine Lighthouse.  Keep an eye out for vehicles on the beach, too; they’re permitted to be on the St. Augustine Beach in designated areas.

Other Great Beaches in St. Augustine

Like most of the Florida coast, the St. Augustine beaches really refer to a number of individual beaches clustered together in one geographic reason.  We’ve already covered what a day at the St. Augustine Beach looks like, but how about the other nearby beaches in the area?

Crescent Beach

Crescent Beach is the southernmost beach in the St. Augustine area, also located on Anastasia Island. This beach is ideal for nature lovers, as it’s well-known for its serene, natural setting. It’s a great place for beachcombers to explore and is considered to be one of the most unspoiled and beautiful beaches in Florida.

Butler Beach

Butler Beach, just south of the St. Augustine Beach, is another one for nature lovers. This beach area is dedicated to preserving a fragile dune system that is home to the native Anastasia Island Beach Mouse and gopher tortoises

Anastasia State Park

Here, you’ll find picturesque unspoiled beaches where no cars are allowed on the beach. It is the perfect beach for nature lovers, as its beach area is a protected bird sanctuary. You can read all about Anastasia State Park in a recent blog.

Vilano Beach

At the northern end of the St. Augustine beaches, you’ll find Vilano Beach. The locals consider this beach to be their best-kept secret, as it is less crowded than beaches like the St. Augustine Beach. However, you’ll still find plenty of lodging, waterfront restaurants, the Vilano Beach Fishing Pier, parasailing and Sea-Doo rentals, and several parks in the area.
